THE BIG GOODBYE

(RKB, 6/01, Key of C, 5:25)

1.) You stand there shining as the morning sun lights up your bright dream. And I don't know just what to say. So many memories flash across my mind, but they're all fading, lost in the light of this great day.

A.) Goodbye now, gotta let me go. The curtain is rising, the house lights are dimming low. Goodbye, hey, let's get on with the show. Maybe I'm no star, but at least I gotta know. Bye, bye, bye, bop-bop-bop- bye, bye bye, bop-bop-bop bye.

2.) You came into our lives like flowers to a a ready garden. We broke the bread of life again and again. Together we learned in joy and sorrow how God raises children. Together we triumphed friend to friend.

B.) Goodbye mom, I'll be sure to write. Maybe an e-mail, or maybe I'll call you tonight. Goodbye dad, I'll be sure to pray. Thanks for the money, and thanks that I can go away. Bye, bye, bye, bop-bop-bop- bye, bye bye, bop-bop-bop bye.

M8) Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I'm found. I once was blind, but now I see.

(Instrumental)

3.) May Jesus keep you, may he guide you, may he ever hold you. And may you always look His way. And please remember we will always, always, always love you. And whatever else we're supposed to say.

C.) Goodbye now, gotta live my faith. Thanks for the years of growing and growing in grace. Time won't stop, it won't even slow. The race is on. I love you, but I gotta go. Bye, bye, bye, bop-bop-bop, bye bye bye, bop-bop-bop bye.
