BIG MEDIA

(Written by Rob Bolton, for election day 1995)

1.) Across the USA today, acted out like a high school play, / All the news that's fit to spin, and subtle thoughts they just slip in. / Ink flows from presses pouring, headlines that don't match the story, / While candidates for votes, they vie. / But how do you know, and who do you buy?

CHORUS#1.) Big Media, big wind. / Blowin' in our ears again. / Big Media, big bust. / News nobody's really gonna trust.

2.) Lefty's issues are in your face, on journalism's yellow page. / And never mind that they can't spell, it's just wisdom from a bone-dry well. / Recycled posturing, sounding trite, confuses the votes of the simple minds. / Fiddlin' while Rome's burning down, and then they blame the Christians in their town.

CHORUS#2.) Big media, dead end. / Father of lies and mother of sin, / Big media, big joke. / Funny 'til they steal your vote.

3.) So how you gonna know what's true? / The word of God comes shining through. / Principles opon the pages. / Application for all ages. (Instruemtnal interlude) And human nature shown to be, / A frightened child adrift at sea, / And Jesus coming from the shore, / To lead us back to God once more. / (Good news. . .think they'll print it?)

CHORUS#3.) Big media, brain dead. / The real story's just over their heads, / Big media, bad news. / In the end they've really gotta lose.

FINALE.) Where you gonna go/ / When you just goota know what's true, what's happenning round you? / God gave his only son, / Sent his beloved one, /" Hear ye him. Hear ye him."
