GOD BLESS THE WEST

(RKB, 2007, C, 5:50)

1.) Call out you name in the Grand Canyon. The echo hardly fades away.
I stand in awe of the creation. How did it ever get this way?
There's the petrified forest; you got Death Valley and Salt Lake
And oil springing up in Texas. These are mysteries we can't fake.
Mysteries we can't shake.

2.) Riding through Monument Valley, gonna take your breath away.
And the deserts of New Mexico, go on forever and a day.
And the big sky in Montana, Or the prairie stretching endlessly.
The cold clear lakes, and the ever-reaching mountains, somehow bring me to my knees.
They bring me to my knees.

C.) God touched this land. God blessed this land.

Bridge.) And I won't say that we have been the greatest stewards,
We had our Gold Rush. Nearly lost our Buffalo.
Still out west, well, the air is full of freedom.
One of His greatest gifts we know:
God touched this land.

3.) Standing by the ancient Redwoods, don't think I ever felt so small.
Knowing I am an American, keeps me ever standing tall.
And let us not forget the legends of when the west was truly wild.
And as we thank Him for this kingdom, may we receive it like a child.
Let us receive it like a child.
