(Somewhere Between) GONE AND LONG GONE

(Written by Rob, 1994)

1.) Quiet in the court, and we're called to stand before a judge who's righteous and all too true. / With a few good deeds, I thought I had a real chance, until that devil D.A. stepped through. / The accuser of the brethren, he pointed his finger, and proclaimed the wicked deeds of my heart. / And as he listed my crimes, he tried to claim my soul for the dark.

2.) Well I need a lawyer with the wisdom of God, hey Jesus, will you please take my case? / He said, "Son, your case is a lost one. I'll go one better. I'll take your place." / So he swallowed my sentence of death and hell, and he covered my shame with his blood. / And he rose up again, having showed me the meaning of love.

CHORUS #1.) My sin's gone (It's in the deepest sea). / Long gone. (Oh, taken far from me.) Sin's gone (ooo-wah, ooo-wah) Somewhere between gone and long gone. / Somewhere between gone and long gone.

(Instrumental interlude)

3.) Wish I could say I was an innocent man, who had every right to be forgiven. / I'll only say I was a desperate man who found grace enough to be forgiven. / But I'll be takin' no guilt, so get outta my face, now satan, just forget my past. / And remember your future, where you're goin' at that final trumpet blast.

CHORUS #2.) My sin's gone (Like the east from the west).Long gone. (Now I've been mercy-blessed). Sin's gone (ooo-wah, ooo-wah) Somewhere between gone and long gone. Somewhere between gone and long gone.
