OUR LADY OF SANTA POCO

(RKB, 12/01, Key of A+)

1.) The festival's songs rise up higher than the old mountains, as the little village feigns a celebration of their meager lives. But Santa Poco's deep sorrow cannot be overcome by such feasting, or Tequila, still they try.

2.) This is the occasion of Mary's assumed bright ascention into heaven, or so the old preists have claimed. But in the adobe church, Rosa lights a candle, opens her bible, and reads there what Mary really said.

CHORUS.) My heart rejoices in God, my savior. My soul magnifies the Lord. He that is mighty has done great things for me, and blessed me forever with His life. (Through His blood, he bought me His life.)

3.) In a moment of sweet revelation, Rosa sees Mary celebrating someone far higher than she. And Rosa reads on with a hunger for truth, and she wonders, Lord how can these things be?

4.) They call His name Jesus because He saves His people from all their sins, all their sorrow, all their shame. He fills the hungry, remembering mercy. Holy holy hole is His name.

(Repeat chorus twice)
